Develop 2-3 strategies for improving your team’s design. Be specific and ensure that the strategies you identify either leverage existing strengths of the team’s design or directly address any problems you identified with the team design in your assessment above. Explain why you think these strategies will help your team perform more effectively, using material from the course to justify your answers.
Team Process and Performance: Assessment
Pick two of the following assessment questions to answer:
- Describe a time when your team exhibited the common information effect. How did the common information effect impact your team’s performance?
- Describe a time when your team exhibited social loafing. What do you think was the cause of the social loafing, and how did the social loafing impact your team’s performance?
- Describe a time when your team exhibited conflict. What type of conflict was it and how did this conflict impact your team’s performance?
- To what extent was your team a psychologically safe environment? What do you think enabled your team to have high (or low) psychological safety?
- To what extent is/was your team effective at learning? What enabled your team to learn effectively, and what barriers kept your team from learning more effectively?
Team Process and Performance: Leadership Strategies
Develop 2-3 strategies for improving your team’s key processes, including but not limited to information sharing (common information effect), social loafing and motivation, coordination, conflict and learning. Be specific and ensure that the strategies you identify directly address the key team processes you identified as being important for your team. Explain why you think these strategies will help your team perform more effectively, using material from the course to justify your answers.
